What is Bio-Micro-Nutrients?

1. BIO MICRO NUTRIENTS (BMN)

Bio-micro-nutrients (BMN) is a plant and livestock complete nutrition product fully developed in Malaysia. As the name suggests, it is micro nutrients (trace elements) that is extracted from bio sources. BMN is extracted in its natural form, and thus naturally occurring composition remains completely unaltered.

However natural enzymes are added to BMN, to act as chelating agents, so as to improve the bio availability of BMN to plants. The BMN’s chelating agents are cultivated from natural sources (fruit skins) and the culturing process is accelerated using molasses. Therefore, BMN’s chelating agent, do not produce any harmful effects to the environment.

Environmentalists and agronomists have raised very serious alarms that the continued use of chemically produced EDTA based chelating agents, had and will continue to cause serious long term damages to our eco-system, and our food resources, particularly our fresh water and marine fishery resources. With improved bio-availability, BMN is thus very effective when applied to plants and crops. The plants could achieve increased and sustained overall health, in just a few months after application. Hence the plants and crops produced very much higher yields and outputs.

As BMN is a complete plant nutrition, farmers no longer need to apply urea, NPK and other chemical fertilizers. The BMN fed plants are healthier and are able to fight off diseases, fungal and insect attacks. Therefore, farmers no longer need to use insecticides, fungicides and herbicides. As a result. farmers earn more profits. Often times, these chemicals farming “inputs” are usually priced very high, eating away at the farms profit levels, making farmers poor, and dependent on subsidies form their government to keep the farm operating.

2. How could The Agriculture sector benefits from BMN?

Therefore the introduction of BMN would have major impacts on the productivity of the agricultural economy, namely…

a) Increased value add to its fruits and vegetables output via organic farming practices. The application of BMN would make it easy to meet the farming standards as farmers no longer need to use NPK, other chemically source of fertilizers.

b) Sustained usage of the BMN on a national scale, would allow the soils to recover from the high acidity and other nutritional damages, caused by decades, if not centuries, use of urea, NPK, other chemical fertilizers, herbicides, fungicides, insecticides, plant growth hormone, and other chemicals.

c) Double or even triple the agricultural sector’s contribution because the use of BMN could increase productivity per hectare by 80% to 100%. This assertion is based on two factors,

i) Plot tests carries out on Malaysian crops showed that fruit production, by weight, increased by 100%, after the BMN application, and

ii) Huge losses suffered by Malaysian fruits farmers were reversed into ever greater profits because the diseases that had infected the fruits, and damaged the plants, could be totally ‘treated’ with BMN applications.

3. Applications of BMN to Agriculture and it’s Benefits

As mentioned above, the BMN is developed for both plants (agriculture formulation) and for fish and animals (livestock formulation). Therefore we are strongly proposed the applications of BMN to all sectors of agriculture.

Fruits sector – BMN with Bio-Char (charcoal) compost. Replace NPK and other chemicals. Reduce acidity and gradually restore soil’s fertility. Improve plants’ health, and increases fruiting

Vegetables sector – BMN with Bio-Char compost. Replace NPK and other chemicals. Reduce acidity and gradually restore soil’s fertility. Improve plants’ health, and increase harvest

Grains sector – BMN with Bio-Char compost. Replace NPK and other chemicals. Reduce acidity and gradually restore soil’s fertility. Improve crops’ health, and increase harvest

Livestock sector – BMN with Bio-Char compost. Stop antibiotics and chemical usages. Improve livestock health- Reduce mortality and operating costs

Fishery sector – Implement Terraponic i.e Aquaponic (Aquaculture & Hydroponic) projects. Expand agriculture sectors Increase output via intensive fishery/farming projects.
